I made sure to call home, so that my son would be able to witness such an event. It's great to be able to remember the remarkable things people do when we are older, and I didn't want him to miss out. On break, I put this on, and the rest of the staff were quite amazed at it as well, commenting how they heard about this and that it had been cancelled a few times. I t looked liked today was the day to break the record.
It took Felix close to 2 and a half hours to rise to the height required to break the sound barrier. During this time, I kept my eye on a tv,sitting and chatting with residents about this amazing event. Finally, on my last break, we were able to watch Felix jump from his capsule, at a height of 128, 097 feet, and only took an amazing 4 min 36 sec to land safely back on earth!
To read more, and to watch a video visit here. Seems I will have to do the same for my son, as my husband was unable to find it on tv.
